How Does Curodont Work?

Curodont is designed to treat certain early-stage cavities before the enamel has broken down into a larger cavity. Rather than filling the area with resin or removing tooth structure with a drill, Curodont supports mineral repair within the weakened enamel.

The treatment helps fluoride and naturally occurring minerals from saliva, including calcium and phosphate, move into the porous area of the tooth. Over the following weeks, this process supports the formation of new hydroxyapatite crystals, which are the mineral building blocks of enamel.

During treatment, we generally:

• Clean and prepare the area being treated
• Condition the enamel so the treatment can reach the porous area
• Apply Curodont directly to the tooth
• Allow the material to penetrate the affected enamel
• Provide instructions for protecting the area after treatment

There is no traditional filling material, drilling, or injection required for appropriate cases.
